Pot Holder for All Seasons - Falling Leaves

Join the Fiber Lab each month to create fun and easy seasonal pot holders. Sign up for one, sign up for all of them, or for as many of the classes as you'd like. These classes are designed to be enjoyable whether you're a beginner or an expert.

Falling Leaves

September's pot holder, Falling Leaves, will have you thinking of crisp, cool days and changing colors. Strips of fabrics in fall colors pieced in a diagonal pattern make for a striking finished product. Bonus — you'll have enough fabric to make two pot holders!

• Finished Size: 8-1/4" x 9-1/2" (not including the loop)
• Templates needed for the pot holder will be provided so you don't need to cut them out of your copy.

Materials Needed:

• All classes will be using the book Pot Holders for All Seasons by Chris Malone. Available at the shop.
• Scraps of 18 - 20 red fabric, or any fall colors of your choice
  
  • All fabrics must be at least 9-1/2" long and varying in width from 1-1/4" - 1-3/4"
• 2 fat quarters, one each of gold and red tonal (or fall colors of your choice)
• 1 (10" x 20") rectangle cotton batting
• 1 (10" x 20") insulated batting, such as InsulBright

Prior to Class:

• Cut all of your strips and have them ready to sew. We will focus on sewing and cutting the final shape in the class.

Additional Supplies:

• Walking foot
• Marking pen or pencil
• Matching Thread
• Scissors
• Pins or sewing clips
• Rotary cutter

Note: You must bring your own sewing machine. It is also recommended to bring a walking foot. 

Stop in early to choose your fabrics and get and any other supplies you may need. The Fiber Lab offers a 10% discount on class supplies.

Register early. Classes with fewer than 3 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
