Pot Holder for All Seasons - Scaredy Cat

Join the Fiber Lab each month to create fun and easy seasonal pot holders. Sign up for one, sign up for all of them, or for as many of the classes as you'd like. These classes are designed to be enjoyable whether you're a beginner or an expert.

Scaredy Cat

No tricks, just treats. The Scaredy Cat pot holder is October's project and is a charming black cat with a festive bow. This pot holder is so cute you'll want to display it instead of tucking it away in a drawer. You can also create the cat using different colors, so it's not just for Halloween.

• Finished Size: 7-1/2" x 8-1/2" (excluding tail and bow)
• Templates needed for the pot holder will be provided so you don't need to cut them out of your copy.

Materials Needed:

• All classes will be using the book Pot Holders for All Seasons by Chris Malone. Available at the shop.
• Scrap of orange with black (or color of your choice) for the bow
• Fat quarter of black tonal or color of your choice for the body of the cat
• 1 (8" x 9") rectangle and 2-1/2" x 6" cotton batting
• 1 (8" x 9") insulated batting, such as InsulBright
• 2 buttons for eyes and one for the nose

Additional Supplies:

• Walking foot
• Marking pen or pencil
• Matching Thread
• Scissors
• Pins or sewing clips
• Rotary cutter
• Cutting Mat
• Ruler

Note: You must bring your own sewing machine. It is also recommended to bring a walking foot. 

Stop in early to choose your fabrics and get and any other supplies you may need. The Fiber Lab offers a 10% discount on class supplies.

Register early. Classes with fewer than 3 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
