Pot Holder for All Seasons - Turkey Day
Join the Fiber Lab each month to create fun and easy seasonal pot holders. Sign up for one, sign up for all of them, or for as many of the classes as you'd like. These classes are designed to be enjoyable whether you're a beginner or an expert.
Scaredy Cat
Get your kitchen for all of the cooking that happens on Thanksgiving with the Turkey Day pot holder. This project combines traditional piecing and applique. Go traditional or have some fun with this handsome turkey.
- Finished Size: 8" x 8" (excluding loop)
- Templates needed for the pot holder will be provided so you don't need to cut them out of your copy.
Materials Needed:
- All classes will be using the book Pot Holders for All Seasons by Chris Malone. Available at the shop.
- Scraps of dark brown, medium brown, rust, gold, dark gold, red tonals, and cream with multicolor dots. Or choose your own colors.
- 1/8 yard multicolored stripe
- 1 (8") square backing fabric
- 1 (8") square cotton batting
- 1 (8") square insulated batting, such as InsulBright
- 1 black button (for the turkey's eye)
Additional Supplies:
- Walking foot
- Marking pen or pencil
- Matching Thread
- Scissors
- Pins or sewing clips
- Rotary cutter
- Cutting Mat
- Ruler
Note: You must bring your own sewing machine. It is also recommended to bring a walking foot.
Stop in early to choose your fabrics and get and any other supplies you may need. The Fiber Lab offers a 10% discount on class supplies.
Register early. Classes with fewer than 3 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
