Doodle Deck Cowl

Doodle Decks are modular, mix-and-match motifs that can be use to create beautiful stranded colorwork pieces. In this class we will spend time designing a cowl, selecting appropriate yarns and colors for our project, and then knitting the cowl we designed. We have multiple Doodle decks to choose from, so each cowl will be unique to the individual.

Skills you will learn in this class:

• Design your own pattern using various motifs
• Select colors for a colorwork project

Supplies to Bring to Class:

• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers

Supplies Needed:

We will be deciding on the Doodle Card Deck and yarn colors in the first class session. Do not buy your yarn ahead of time. If you have yarns in the appropriate weight at home, bring them and we can combine them with additional colors as we work through the design. The Fiber Lab will supply graph paper and colored pencils for the design process.

• A readiness to play with colors
• Your choice of Doodle Card Deck
• Approximately 50 - 100 yards of 4 - 6 colors of DK weight yarn. Sun Valley Fibers minis are a great option!
• US 5 or 6 (3.75 or 4mm) 16” or 24" circular needle (ribbing)
• US 6 or 7 (4 or 4.5mm) 16"  or 24" circular needle (main body)

The Fiber Lab offers a 10% discount on class supplies.

Register early. Classes with fewer than 2 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
