Cozy Fingerless Mitts Workshop
Part of the Make It Homemade Holiday Workshop Series
Quick and easy fingerless mitts are the perfect gift or make some for yourself. Who doesn't get cold hands in the winter months? Whether you knit or crochet, we've got your hands covered.
This is a workshop style class. We will meet once for 4 hours. Feel free to bring a bagged lunch. Light snacks will be provided.
Skill Level: Beginner
Supplies Needed:
- Pattern for the fingerless mitts you choose to make
- Cozy Thermal Mitts (Knit) — Free
- Mystical Mitts (Crochet) — Free
- 1 skein of DK or Worsted weight yarn (refer to pattern for specifics)
- US 6 knitting needle or G (4mm) crochet hook (or appropriate size to obtain gauge)
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- Scissors
Stop in early to choose your yarn and any other supplies you need. The Fiber Lab offers a 10% discount on class supplies.
Register early. Classes with fewer than 2 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.

| Skill Details: | Knit: Comfortable casting on, using knit and purl stitches, reading patterns, and able to fix minor mistakes. Crochet: Comfortable with basic crochet stitches including half double crochet, reading patterns, and able to fix minor mistakes. |

| Instructor Bio: | Kris has been knitting since she was 8 years old. Not satisfied with the potholders that her local 4-H club limited her to, she dove into mittens. She believes that knitting is about the process, which teaches patience. Lily is an all-around fiber and textile crafty person. She crochets, knits, sews, quilts, needle felts, and more! Lily is heading into her third year at UW-Stout as an Art Education major. |
