Looks Count: Techniques for Neat & Even Stitches

Join us as we delve into different knitting techniques and explore tips and tricks to improve your knitting. We are offering a series of workshops that draw from the expertise of Patty Lyons. The classes will make use of Patty Lyons' book, Knitting Bag of Tricks and the companion workbook.
Each 2-hour workshop will focus on a specific set of skills. Take one class, or sign up for them all to really up your knitting game.
From bumpy and loopy edges to uneven rows, the Looks Count: Techniques for Neat & Even Stitches workshop will give you tips and tools to improve the appearance of your knitting.
A Taste of What You'll Learn:
- Cleaning up right-edge stitches
- Meeting row gauge
- Neatening up the appearance of ribbing
- May also explore purling backwards and Portuguese purling
This class is suitable for knitters of all levels.
Supplies Needed:
- Patty Lyons' Knitting Bag of Tricks and The Official Workbook (both available at the Fiber Lab)
- 50 - 100 yards of a light-colored worsted weight yarn
- A swatch worked in 2 x 4 ribbing (2 knit/4 purl) and left on the needles. (Do not bind off)
- Work 48 stitches by about 30 rows
- US 8 - 10 or larger knitting needles. Can be straight or circular.
- Scissors
Stop in early to get any supplies you need. The Fiber Lab offers a 10% discount on class supplies.
Register early. Classes with fewer than 2 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
