Mondo Bag

The Mondo Bag is, as its name implies, a really large and roomy bag. In this class you'll learn how to use fusible grid interfacing to easily assemble patchwork squares, quilt the bag panels, and construct the bag with professional-looking finishes. Whether you choose pre-cut fabrics, scraps from your stash, or a fabrics from a favorite fabric collection, your finished Mondo Bag will be unique to you.

This class is suitable for adventurous beginners and experienced sewists.

This class has three 3 hour sessions. 

Materials Needed:

• Mondo Bag Fun Pak (includes pattern and grid interfacing)
• Bag Exterior: [192] 2-1/2" squares. Fabric options:
  
  • 2 charm packs (or 1 charm pack plus extra fabric)
  • 1 Jelly roll
  • 1 Layer Cake
  • Scraps
  • Variety of coordinating fabrics (approximately [16] 2-1/2" strips) 
• Lining: 1-1/4 yards (some of this can be used for straps)
• Strap Options:
  • [2] 2-1/2" strips of coordinating fabric (if different from lining)
  • [2] yards of 1-1/2" webbing
• 1-1/4 yards of fusible fleece (Soft & Stable may also be used)

Additional Supplies:

• Erasable marking pen
• Ruler
• Cutting Mat
• Rotary Cutter
• Matching Thread
• Scissors
• Pins or sewing clips

Note: You must bring your own sewing machine.

Stop in early to choose your fabrics and get and any other supplies you may need. The Fiber Lab offers a 15% discount on class supplies.

Register early. Classes with fewer than 3 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
