Sea Glass Cardigan
The Sea Glass Cardigan is every stashbuster’s dream. This seamless top down raglan cardigan lets you play with virtually any yarn combination while turning scraps, minis, and leftovers into a cohesive sweater. You will also learn an i-cord method for for securing all those loose ends — no weaving in ends!
This V-neck raglan cardigan is worked from the top down so you can try it on as you go and customize length and fit. The only purl stitches occur in the ribbing for the hem, cuffs, and collar.
The sweater uses basic 1x1 stranded colorwork throughout, alternating the main color and contrast color every stitch to create a softly blended fabric.
The first class session will focus on choosing colors and focusing on special techniques in the sweater.

For best fit: Measure the bust of a sweater you own that fits you well. You can bring the sweater to the first class if you choose. The pattern recommends 2" - 6" of positive ease.
Supplies Needed for All Projects:
- Sea Glass Cardigan pattern, available via Ravelry. It is recommended that you print this pattern.
- DK or Sport weight yarn. You may:
- Use a single strand of DK or sport weight yarn
- Hold two strands of fingering weight together
- Approximate yardage (varies depending on yarn combinations)
Main Color (if used throughout colorwork):
920 (1000, 1120, 1230, 1300)(1400, 1520, 1620, 1720, 1840) yardsContrast Color (one color or a combination of several colors):
600 (750, 800, 840, 900)(950, 1000, 1050, 1100, 1150) yards - If using stash yarns, bring those to class. You will have time to look at yarn at the shop during the first session.
- US 6 (4mm) circular needles or size to obtain gauge
- US 8 (5.mm) circular needles or size to obtain gauge
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
Stop in early to choose your yarn and any other supplies you need. The Fiber Lab offers a 15% discount on class supplies.
Register early. Classes with fewer than 2 registrations, 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of class will be canceled. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled, and the registration fee will be refunded.
