Retail Sales Associate
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for connecting customers with the appropriate fabrics, yarns, and/or notions for their creative projects. The ideal candidate will already have some working knowledge of textiles and fiber arts personally or professionally. Professional training in apparel design is a plus, but not required.
The person in this position must be capable of providing stellar customer service, be an excellent communicator, and have a knack for building relationships. Fiber Lab values customer satisfaction, and the Retail Sales Associate will answer questions, find creative solutions, and maintain a fun, clean, and creative environment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to shoppers that results in repeat visits and long-term relationships
- Provide customers with purchasing options based on their needs and desires, demonstrating deep knowledge of textile and fiber arts and the Fiber Lab
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, pricing, and promotions
- Create an exceptional buying experience by informing customers about new products and presenting product promotions and upsell based on conversations with customers
- Manage purchases and payment transactions using cash register and POS software, and assist customers with returns and exchanges
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-friendly store environment
- Represent the Fiber Lab with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Treat all customers with respect and courtesy
- Demonstrate interest in customer projects
Required skills and qualifications
- Friendly, professional demeanor and appearance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and motivation to satisfy customers
- Experience with at least one, but preferably more of the following: sewing/quilting, knitting and crochet
- Passionate about working with high quality yarn and fabrics
- Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends
- Ability to lift and move fabric bolts and stand for extended periods
